Mary B. Dembeck, age 96, of Ocean View, DE, passed away on Friday, August 16, 2019 at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, DE. She was born in Baltimore, MD, on October 31, 1922, daughter of the late Frank and Julia Dembeck.
Ms. Dembeck was a graduate of Patterson High School in Baltimore, MD and earned an Associates Degree from Strayers College. She was a proud US Army Veteran, having served as a dental tech during World War II. Following her service to country, Ms. Dembeck had an office career, was a senior advocate, and the former president of Senior Activities Essex Co-op. She had a variety of interests and hobbies; including, but not limited to bingo, arts and crafts, flower arrangement, reading, and singing. Ms. Dembeck was also a member of the Joseph's Center, Essex Senior Center, Optimist Club of Dundalk, Polish Women's Alliance, the American Legion Post 24, Cheer Center Ocean View and VFW Post 7234 Auxiliary. Above all, Ms. Dembeck was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Dembeck was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Jensen Sr; her daughter, Catherine M. Jensen; and her granddaughter, Jennifer M. Woolford. She is survived by her sons: James H. Jensen Jr, (Deborah) and Joseph F. Jensen; her daughters: Christine M. Davis (Kevin) and Cynthia M. Weese (Dale); her 4 grandchildren; and her 8 great-grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 22, 2019, at 11:00 AM at St. Ann Catholic Church, 691 Garfield Parkway, Bethany Beach, DE, where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow the services at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE.
