Mary Catherine Billups, age 77, of Lewes, DE passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, January 1, 2018. She was born on May 23, 1940 in Reno, NV, daughter of the late Mark Benedicto and April Clark. Ms. Billups' career was in Read Obituary

Mary taught my son Joseph at Vinewood School here in Lodi,she was one of the best. Our family was saddened to hear of her passing,she was a special lady & teacher who is truly missed.

I taught with Mary at Vinewood School, here in Lodi. I loved her wicked sense of humor, her contagious laugh and her compassion for those that struggled with learning. My son had the good fortune to have her as a teacher. She always remained positive and had the patience of the Lord. Every Monday we would convey outside our pod and she would always made me feel so inadequate, by recounting the numerous projects she completed the past weekend from pulling out stumps, to cutting down trees and re-landscaping. She loved her family, her Church and she loved her life. I was deeply saddened to hear of her death from the vile Cancer.

I so enjoyed the company of Mary, her knowledge of plants and very green thumb. Mary was so sweet, with an easy laugh & smile. It was always a joy to visit with her and Carla over a cup of tea and stories of travel. I so missed Mary and Carla after their move to the East coast but hold on to memories. It has been such a pleasure to have Mary as a friend for 18 years. she was a blessing in my My life. She helped me thru some stuff times , and helped me grow in my faith. We had some great travels together, her humor , and sweet disposition was all one could ask for in a friend, she will have a special place in my heart, and will be missed but we will be joined together someday.
Mary was a special lady. She always had a wonderful smile. We send you love from North Carolina.
No one could have a better friend. We shared so many laughs and so many tears over the past 43 years. I always told her that God had us buy that house because she lived next door. She will be missed.

I have been blessed by your friendship for many years, and through that I was able to know your mom. I will never forget the amazing meals she cooked for us, and how she laughed and smiled as she made sure we had our share of her awesome meals. These times are never easy, but you and your family will still feel her love everyday. I have no doubts our mothers will be up in Heaven still making sure we act like good girls.
