Mary McGrew Lee, 62
Of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, passed away Wednesday, September 6, 2006 at her home after a courageous struggle with cancer.
Mrs. Lee was born on July 5, 1944 in Wilmington, Delaware to the late Frank C. and Maxine Remaly McGrew.
She graduated from the Tower Hill School in Wilmington, received a bachelor's degree from Sweet Briar College in Virginia, and earned a masters degree from the University of Delaware. She was a mediator for the Family Court of Delaware in Georgetown.
Mrs. Lee was an active member of Epworth United Methodist Church for over forty years, serving on countless boards and committees, and she especially enjoyed singing in the Chancel Choir. She was active within her community and served as a source of strength and inspiration to many. On sunny summer weekends, she could be found surrounded by her family and friends on Deauville Beach.
A beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, she is survived by her fiancé and best friend, James A. Caulfield, her four children and their spouses, Caroline and Richard Cross, William and Leslie Lee, Virginia and Louis Calabrese, and John E.B. Lee, and her greatest pride and joy, her six grandsons: William, Henry and George Cross, John and W. Swain Lee, and Nicholas Calabrese. She is also survived by her siblings and their spouses, Carol and James Getty of Kansas City, Missouri and Michael and Jane McGrew of Bexley, Ohio.
Memorial Services will be held on Saturday September 9, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Epworth United Methodist Church, 20 Baltimore Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE with Rev. Jack Abel officiating, followed by a brief reception at her home to celebrate her life.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be contributed in Mrs. Lee's memory to Epworth United Methodist Church, 20 Baltimore Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971 or to Delaware Hospice, 26167 Office Circle, Georgetown, DE 19947.
