I thank the Lord for friendship with Red over many years, from August 1960 onward as members of U S Merchant Marine Academy class of 1964 and as section mates all three years on campus, and continuing after graduation with correspondence, occasional meetings and special memories, e.g. attending his and Joan's wedding, several mini reunions at their home on Dewey Beach and, more recently in Zoom meetings with fellow section mates Ed O'Donnell and Clem Bason.

Martin was a very special, and loving gentleman. He shared information about the Merchant Marines to help with memories of my father. His thoughtfulness and sense of humor was greatly appreciated in social situations. Our only regret is not knowing him longer. A great loss to all who knew him but a successful passage onward. Thank you Martin!
