Marsha Lynne Davis' Obituary
Mrs. Marsha Lynne Davis of Lewes, DE died Tuesday, November 18, on her 76th birthday with family at her side at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes. She was born Marsha Morgan on November 18th, 1938 in Circleville, OH to Carroll and Eleanor (Vandervort) Morgan.
She graduated from Circleville High School where she was well known as a Cheerleader and practical joker. Until her death she was a member of a small group that kept their high school class coming together for frequent reunions.
Marsha was certified as a Medical Technician and worked at Berger Hospital in Circleville, OH. Later in life Marsha received her RN Degree at Delaware Technical and Community College in Georgetown, DE. She loved serving Sussex County and the Delaware community as a visiting nurse for many years. While living in Washington Court House, OH she served as the Director for the Fayette County Senior Center.
In addition to her large, extended family and group of friends, Marsha’s greatest love was Community Theater. She was a common fixture in lead roles in such plays as Picnic, Damn Yankees, Never Too Late, Hello Dolly, My Fair Lady, and many others. She also directed several plays to include Cactus Flower. Most recently she was cast in a short film titled, Interview, 7PM that was selected for play at this year’s Rehoboth Beach DE Independent Film Festival.
She loved travelling with her cherished husband Roy and they visited a number of countries to include Turkey, Greece, Spain, France, United Kingdom, Mexico, Panama, and Peru.
In the last few years Marsha was devoted to many local charities and community service organizations to include St. Peters Episcopal Church Outreach Committee, The Lightship Overfalls, The Village, was a founding member of the Pink Affair to Remember, the Lewes Zoning Board, and The Lewes Library.
Marsha is survived by her three children; John Moore and his wife Amanda, Susan Parobek and her husband Jim, Katie Moore-Hughes and her husband Mark; two step-daughters, Tammy Raetz and Heather Davis; eleven grandchildren, Emily, Beth, and Abbie Raetz, Stephan and Alex Parobek, Courtney, Abbie, and Tessa Moore, Jennifer Moore Deamos, Sara and Laura Hughes; and two great-grandchildren; Becca and Anna Deamos. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Beth Morgan, her nieces, Janice Perdion and Ann Rawlins as well as two step-brothers, Charles and Richard Gerhardt.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Peters Episcopal Church, 211 Mulberry Street, Lewes, DE on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 11 AM with internment in Circleville, OH at her family plot at a later date.
The family asks in lieu of flowers remembrances be sent to any of the organizations mentioned above.
