Mark E. Fryberger's Obituary
Mark E. Fryberger, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2024. He was born in Shamokin, Pennsylvania on March 29, 1961, to the late Maryann (Young) and Elwood J. Fryberger.
A proud graduate of Shamokin Area High School in 1979, Mark was recognized for his work ethic and leadership in his professional life. He dedicated many years to improving the lives of others as the Director of Sunbury Residential Service and Northwestern Human Services before his retirement in 2008.
In his hometown of Shamokin, PA, Mark married Catherine "Cathy" L. (Bendas) on March 19, 1981, it was a joyous union that stood the test of time. Beyond his family and profession, his passions were diverse and fulfilling. He had a profound connection with nature, often found hunting or with a fishing rod in hand, whether in freshwater or saltwater. An avid reader and sports enthusiast, he also took pleasure in participating in fantasy football leagues. Most of all, Mark cherished the moments spent with his family, whether enjoying outdoor adventures or relaxing together at the beach. . He also enjoyed spending time with his beloved canine companion, Cash.
Mark is survived by his son Mark Jr. (Tiffany) and six beloved grandchildren: Blake, Gaige, Marc, Cole, Kylie, and Rileigh; a treasured great-grandson, Logan; as well as his sister, Cathie Lee Stull (Conrad) of Port Orange, Florida; two sisters-in-law Patty Bendas and Barbie Bendas; two brothers-in-law Robert Bendas (Debbie) and David Bendas (Charlene); and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews, all of whom he loved wholeheartedly.
In addition to his parents, Mark is predeceased by his grandparents Gilbert and Leona Young-of Ranshaw and Reverend John and Catherine Fryberger of Shamokin, PA.
A Christian Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 15, 2024, at Irish Valley United Methodist Church in Paxinos, Pennsylvania, where friends and family may visit beginning at 10:00 AM.
