Marjorie A. Muffitt-Hill's Obituary
Marjorie Muffitt-Hill, 88, of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025. Born on July 13, 1937, in Kansas City, MO to Lois A. Peterman and John A. Williams, Marjorie lived a life marked by creativity, independence, and an enduring kindness that touched everyone she met.
Marjorie attended PA School of Art & Design, where she nurtured her lifelong love of the arts. A natural entrepreneur, she fulfilled her dream of being her own boss by founding Sweetheart Creations, a small business that reflected her talent, imagination, and generous spirit.
Marjorie was known for her kindest heart and gentle nature. She loved sewing, her beloved cats, roller skating, time spent at the beach, and anything in her favorite color - purple. Marjorie also had a well-known fondness for chocolate and sweets. She was an active member of local cat clubs and the American Legion Auxiliary, where she formed many cherished friendships.
In addition to her parents, Marjorie was preceded in death by her son, Richard G. Blum, who passed in 2017 and her granddaughter, Tara.
Marjorie is survived by her daughters, Sheridan A. Muffitt of Rehoboth Beach, DE; Rebecca J. LeRoy (Robert) of Lewes, DE; and Melissa L. Sweigart, of Lancaster, PA. She leaves behind nine grandchildren—Jada Blum; Jesse B. Muffitt; Jason Harnish; Jodi Acosta-Davis (James); Wayne R. Stevenson; Brittany K. Schreck (Nick); Chelsea L. Karpinski (Kody); and Chandler E. Horn—along with twelve great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy.
