Marion Elizabeth Anderson's Obituary
Marion Elizabeth (Camburn) Anderson, age 93, of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2009, at Harbor Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Lewes, DE. She was born August 5, 1915 in Pine Beach, NJ, daughter of the late C. Halsey and Etta (Clayton) Camburn.
Mrs. Anderson was a History teacher in Toms River, NJ and Arlington,VA, retiring at age 55. She was a member of the American Association of University Women for 60 years. She moved from Alexandria, VA to Rehoboth Beach in the early 1970's and joined All Saints' Episcopal Church. She was also a member of the Rehoboth Beach Country Club and Rehoboth Public Library. She loved to travel the world and was an avid mystery book reader and bridge player.
Mrs. Anderson is survived by a few distant cousins in New Jersey and her devoted caretakers, Dr. James and Betty Mann Beebe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander Anderson (2001).
A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, March 3, 2009, 1:00 PM at All Saints' Episcopal Church, 18 Olive Ave., Rehoboth Beach, DE; Rev. Max Wolf will be officiating. Interment will be private at All Saints Cemetery near Angola, DE. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Enterprises, Inc., Lewes, DE.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beebe Medical Foundation, 902 Savannah Road, Lewes, DE 19958.
