Marie Winter Selleh's Obituary
Marie Winter Selleh, age 81 of Millsboro, DE (formerly of Lanham, MD) passed away at home, peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, June 8, 2023. She was born on November 28, 1941, in Baltimore, MD, daughter of the late Max and Anne (Levine) Winter.
After graduating high school, Mrs. Selleh married the love of her life, Richard John Selleh on August 28, 1965, at the Turf Valley Resort in Ellicott City, MD, and the two will spend many beautiful years together with countless happy memories. She was a dedicated mother and business owner. Her life work, however, was raising her children, instilling in them the values that have been passed down to the next generations.
Mrs. Selleh had a wide range of interests and hobbies. She loved shopping and the thrill that buying something new (and even returning it) gave her.
Mrs. Selleh had a particular fondness for television shows, especially The Golden Girls, the Chicago Shows (Med, Fire, PD), Walker Texas Ranger, Columbo and the Game Show Network. Word puzzles and games were a few of the things she most enjoyed. Mrs. Selleh especially loved attending outdoor concerts and going on cruises to the Caribbean. Mrs. Selleh was an avid dog lover and loved to curl up with a good book. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Loved by many, she will be genuinely missed by all who were lucky enough to know her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Selleh was predeceased by her beloved husband, Richard Selleh; her brother, Michael Winter; her sister, Lesley Fink; her brother-in-law, Dan Fink; her uncle, William Levin; and her aunt, Esther Levin. She is survived by her children: Larry Selleh (Michelle), and Lisa Bryant (Steve); her granddaughters: Sloan and Peyton Selleh; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, at 11:00 AM at King David Memorial Gardens, 7482 Lee Hwy, Falls Church, VA 22042.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Mrs. Selleh's memory to Beebe Medical Foundation, www.beebehealthcare.org/donate, or Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE, or www.delawarehospice.org/donate/.
