Marie T. Jozwiak's Obituary
Marie T. Jozwiak, age 93, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 4, 2012, at Harrison House in Georgetown, DE. She was born September 8, 1918, in Baltimore, MD, daughter of the late Anthony and Frances Strzegowski.
Mrs. Jozwiak was a woman of strong faith and previously an active parishioner of Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Dundalk, MD, where she was a member of the Blessed Virgin Sodality. She was proud of her Polish heritage and enjoyed attending Polish dances with her late husband Frank. She enjoyed watching her rose garden bloom each year so she could share its beauty with others; she was an avid fan of the Orioles and the Ravens and spent many hours cheering them on with her son Richard. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Jozwiak was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Frank J. Jozwiak (1988); four brothers: Andy Strzegowski, Steve Strzegowski, Leo Strzegowski and Raymond Strzegowski; three sisters: Sophia Fabiszak, Genevieve Pizlo and Agatha Strzegowski. She is survived by her beloved son Richard and his wife Sally of Lewes, DE; grandson, John Jozwiak and his wife Susan; granddaughter, Heather Keane and her husband David; seven great-grandchildren: John, Emma, Jason and Jack Jozwiak and Lauren, Grant and Evan Keane, all of Frederick, MD.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 10, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 6736 Youngstown Avenue, Dundalk, MD, where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will immediately follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery, Baltimore County, MD. Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Edmond Catholic Church, Attn: "Respect Life Ministry,” P. O. Box 646, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
