After graduating from Bridgeville High School, she joined Delaware Electric Cooperative, retiring in 2012 after forty-five years of service. Her outgoing personality, dedication, and willingness to always lend a hand made Marie many life-long friends at DEC.

Marie loved animals and was a well-known breeder of Chesapeake Bay Retrievers. Her beloved dogs were her spoiled children. Quarter horses were also one of her passions and she raised and showed them for many years. She was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association, and she was very active in the Delaware Quarter Horse Association where she touched many lives donating her time and enthusiasm to help and promote youth activities in our state. She loved her horses and won many awards with them. Marie cared deeply about preserving the history of Bridgeville and was active in the Bridgeville Historical Society. Her meticulous and colorful summer flower garden was a source of pride. Traveling to the beautiful beaches of the Caribbean Islands with Larry was one of her greatest life pleasures. Marie had many childhood and close friends that brought much joy to her life.
