Marie Moser Cummings' Obituary
Marie M. Cummings, age 87, of Harrison Senior Living in Georgetown, DE passed away on Saturday, October 12, 2013 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, DE. She was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 12, 1926, daughter of the late George and Erna (Tietz) Moser.
As a young woman, Mrs. Cummings worked as a NBC Radio and Television tour guidette, as a secretary at a Wall Street law firm and modeled. After she married and had children, she was involved in her children’s activities, volunteered for the Salvation Army and was active in the Republican Party on Long Island, NY. She moved to Delaware with her husband in 1997. Mrs. Cummings loved animals especially dogs and was particularly fond of beagles. She always had a soft spot in her heart for any stray animal. She loved to read, crochet, and cook. She will be missed by her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cummings was preceded in death by her loving husband, John R. Cummings, Sr. in 2000. She is survived by her two daughters: Kathleen M. Cummings and husband Ned Wolfe of St. Inigoes, MD; Susan G. Cummings of Holbrook, NY and one son, John R. Cummings, Jr. and wife Theresa of Georgetown, DE and Holbrook, NY and one grandson, Matthew C. Wolfe of High Point, NC.
All services will be private. Arrangements by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Georgetown, DE.
