Mariano "Mario" Ferraro's Obituary
Mariano "Mario" Ferraro, age 83, most recently of Bridgeville DE, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 24, 2017. Mario was born in Carinola-Caserta, Italy on Tuesday, September 5, 1933, son of the late Antonio Ferraro and Luisa Ferraro.
Mr. Ferraro grew up on Staten Island, New York. Proudly serving his country in the U. S. Army. He obtained his license as a hairstylist culminating in a career as a partner in the DaMar Hairstylist Incorporated in Grant City, Staten Island, NY.
Mario loved spending time outside doing activities in the sun. He was a known as a very dapper dresser with a keen fashion sense and enjoyed dinning out with family and friends. He especially loved spending time with his dog Barbie.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Ferraro was preceded in death by his first wife, Marie (Mafaro) Ferraro who passed away in 1998 and his brothers, Aldo and Juilio Ferraro. He is survived by his wife, Marguerite "Peggy" O'Brien-Ferraro whom he married on April 27, 2003; his sons, Mario Ferraro and wife Anna of Staten Island, NY and Anthony Ferraro and wife Annemarie of West Nyack, NY; his daughters, Stephanie Cruz and husband Sean of Staten Island, NY and Kristina Eberle and husband Christopher of Staten Island, NY; his grandchildren: Amanda, Sara, Kaylamarie, Matthew, Jason, Liana and Alina; his sisters, Josephine Lobiato and Lena Pappalardo and her husband Joe; and his brother Elio Ferraro and wife Cathy.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, March 29, 2017, at 11:00 AM, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 532 Stein Highway, Seaford, DE.
Friends may call at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE, on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
Burial will follow the Mass at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE.
Memorial contributions may be made to Nanticoke Hospital, 801 Middleford Road Seaford, DE 19973.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the wonderful staff of Vitas Hospice who with great respect and compassion cared for Mr. Ferraro in his final days.
