I met Marianne in her later life and was touched by her nurturing spirit. She had grace and poise and a beautiful smile in addition to her generous nature. She will be missed by all who knew her and especially her family. 🙏
Marianne was a special friend to all and a strong role model for each of us. She gave of herself and gave again and again. To the Cape Henlopen Food Basket and The Community Resource Center, she was a volunteer who quietly made a huge difference. Whether through her quiet giving or her encouragement, she made us stronger. She has left deep footprints in the sands of our hearts and we are better because of her presence and her love.
Sending our sincere condolences on the loss of your beloved mother, Marianne Metz. We remember Mrs. Metz as a dear friend of our mother's on Old Club Road in Rockville for many many years as they raised their children together in the 70s and 80s. We remember her as a kind and joyful neighbor and friend to so many, a "Bridge Group" member with wonderful women who loved and supported each other for decades. We can picture her visiting over tea at our kitchen table and we can hear their laughter and chatter as they shared life's ups and downs together. Mrs. Metz was creative and had an eye for beauty and design. Her love of nature and gardening (we remember her making colorful corsages and boutonnieres for homecomings and proms) inspired us. She was a beautiful woman in so many ways who made our world a more beautiful place. Rest in Peace, Mrs. Metz. Our hearts are with your family.
