Marianne Flynn's Obituary
Marianne Flynn age 85 of Rehoboth Beach, DE passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 with her daughter Kathleen by her side, at Delaware Hospice Center, in Milford, DE. She was born Friday, February 10, 1939, to the late Thomas M Flynn and Agnes K Flynn (Haney) of the North Side of Pittsburgh, PA. She was a graduate of St. Benedict's Academy not far from where she grew up.
Marianne worked as an Administrative Assistant in Law firms and Real Estate for many years and enjoyed the work that she did. She loved to travel and spending time at the beach. She delighted in having family gatherings and spending time with friends. She was very active as a volunteer for the American Heart Association for many years. Marianne was very proud of her Irish heritage and cherished her hometown of Pittsburgh, PA. She will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to call her family or friend.
In addition to her parents, Marianne was preceded in death by her brother Tom, grandson Christopher and son Brian. She is survived by her sister Patricia R. Brown; sister-in-law Susan Flynn; children Patrick G. Simmons, John H. Simmons (Arline), Maureen K. Justice (Michael), Kathleen M. Flynn, Denise Laris (Rich); grandchildren David T. Simmons (Kristen), Kristin M. Simmons, Kevin M. Justice, John T. Simmons (Miranda), Allen M. Justice (Rachael), Jenna B. Simmons (Eric), Sean P. Flynn; 7 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at 11:30 AM with visitation beginning at 10:30 AM at St. Edmond Catholic Church, 409 King Charles Avenue , Rehoboth Beach, DE.
