Maria Rebecca Goldstein's Obituary
Maria Rebecca "Becky " Goldstein, age 93 of Lewes, DE, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022. She was born on February 28, 1929, in Taft, TX, daughter of the late Felipe and Guadalupe (Garza) Vasquez.
Becky was a proud veteran, having honorably served in the US Navy as a Seaman, First Class. She and her family relocated to Lewes, Delaware, having formerly resided in Northern New Jersey, where she dedicated 40 years to the US Veteran’s Affairs Department, gaining extensive neuropsychiatric experience and retiring in 2008. Becky concluded her work as a career interior designer.
Becky took great pride in her Mexican-American heritage and the culture that she loved all her life. She took pleasure in sharing stories of her birthplace and upbringing and was forever mindful of continuing important family traditions.
Above all, Becky enjoyed time spent with those she held most dear. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Loved by many, she will be deeply and genuinely missed by all who had the good fortune to know her.
Becky is survived by her beloved husband, Stanley Goldstein; her children: Leonard of Atlantic County, NJ; Laura (Don) of New Hope, PA; and Ray (Donna) of Egg Harbor Township, NJ; and her grandchildren, whom she took great pride in: Christopher and Carolyn Goldstein of Ventnor, NJ, and Zachary, Erin, and Dana of New Hope, PA.
A Prayer Service will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE, where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private.
