Margery L. Walker's Obituary
Margery L. Walker, age 79, of Dagsboro, DE passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Seaford Center, Seaford, DE. She was born in Lancaster, PA on August 25, 1933, daughter of the late Joseph and Marion (Kreckel) Bell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John L. Walker (2006), her son, Patrick Joseph Walker (2009), and two siblings: her brother, Bill Bell and her sister, Bobbi McEntee.
Mrs. Walker was a devout Catholic and active parishioner at St. Ann Catholic Church in Bethany Beach. She was an avid reader and had a great love for birds, especially her pair of love birds, Sunny and Kiwi. She was the Matriarch of the family, the loving “glue” that kept everyone together, always there wherever she was needed. Mrs. Walker will be missed by her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her many friends.
Mrs. Walker is survived by her son, Mike Walker and wife Kathy of Landover Hills, MD; two daughters: Terri O’Leary and husband Mike of Frederick, MD and Anne Nutter of Dagsboro, DE; 13 grandchildren: Kelly Walker, Steven Walker, John Walker and wife Janna, Michael R. O’Leary, Tom O’Leary and wife Laura, Casey O’Leary, Lauren Walker, Christie Walker and husband Justin, Rob Walker and wife Carol, Katie Nutter, Brad Nutter, Laura Nutter and Patrick Nutter; two great-grandchildren: Lacey and Hunter Glick; and daughter in-law, Trish Walker of Lexington, NC.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 1, 2013 at 11:00 AM at St. Ann Catholic Church, 691 Garfield Parkway, Bethany Beach, DE where friends may visit beginning at 10:00 AM. Entombment will be private at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro, DE.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P. O. Box 163, Salisbury, MD 21803-016.
