Yulia and I wanted to share some joyful images we had from Maggie and Andrea`s trip to Ottawa to visit us. This was such a special and great week and memory for us. One of the photos was from the Ottawa Pride Parade and it was a real pleasure to laugh, talk and watch the festivities together (plus that really fun night at the Natural History Museum during Pride Week). We got to know Maggie a lot better that week as we only met over Skype before that. We are better for having that time together.

What came across getting to know Maggie was the passion and light that she carried in everything she put her attention and interest towards. Her interests, volunteering and pursuits for helping others benefited her friends and neighbours and the lives of her communities.

We are very fortunate to have known Maggie and have a lot of fond memories of our paths crossing.

Andrea, thank you for sharing this heartfelt tribute of Maggie's life with us. I read it as slow as possible...as I did not want the words to come to an end.
I loved (and was tickled by the fact) that Maggie searched the internet and found me (after 26 years). It was a surprise wrapped in the fullness of awesomeness. We spoke, texted, vented, celebrated, inspired, plotted, and hoped (all in that order).

Thank you Maggie for seeing in me...just who and what I was meant to be. I will forever live my life in love, understanding, advocacy, truth, and kindness. Give thanks for sharing your light with the world. Give thanks for sharing Andrea with our world/family.

I met Maggie in the summer of 2012. From the very beginning, she stood out as someone truly special—intelligent, open-minded, generous, and deeply humanistic. Even though my English wasn’t very good back then, she welcomed me with kindness and patience. She listened, she encouraged, and she made me feel at home.
With Maggie’s support, I gradually improved my English. She never made me feel small for struggling—on the contrary, she gave me the space and confidence to grow. One of the most meaningful experiences I shared with her was illustrating her book. It was a beautiful collaboration, and I felt so honored that she trusted me with her words and her vision.
I’ll also never forget how she was there for me when I injured my arm. She didn’t hesitate—she came with me to my clinic visits, helped me navigate everything, and showed me so much care and friendship during that time.
Maggie had such strong, beautiful human values. She lived with compassion, integrity, and a true openness to others. Her presence in my life made a difference, and her memory continues to be a source of inspiration.

Maggie, you will always be, to me, a model of kindness and strength. I’m so grateful for the time we shared. I will never forget you.

Robyn and I lived around the corner from Maggie and Andrea in Sarasota. We passed each other walking our dogs, until one day we struck up a conversation that turned into a friendship. We walked away saying "those were great ladies." We became close, which we valued, knowing that late in life it's not easy to make new pals. We cried when those two moved from Sarasota, and we shed more tears when Maggie passed. We will always remember Maggie sharing her opinions, and her knowledge and comfort when we burned a hand, or cut a finger. She made the best root beer floats; she told the most lively stories with a glimmer in her eyes. She was thoughtful, brilliant, and entertaining. She will not be replaced, and never forgotten. We are forever thankful for meeting Maggie and Andrea. We are grateful knowing that Andrea will keep Maggie alive for all of us. RIP good pal Maggie; congratulations on your life well lived.

We will miss Maggie so much. We are honored to have called her a friend and we enjoyed fun outings with her and Andrea in Sarasota.
Maggie helped care for me when I cut the tip o fmy finger off and when I burned my hand. She was always caring for other people in so many ways.
Here is a photo of us at a Baltimore Orioles spring training game. She was the best. Sending love, light, and peace to Andrea.

I miss you so much, my friend. You made a beautiful impact on our lives as a great friend for 20+ years. We remember you and Andrea were the first friends we made here in Rehoboth back in 2000 - meeting in front of Browseabout! Knew we’d be friends immediately! We’ve had many adventures together, road-trips, parties, card games, walks on the beach, hikes to waterfalls…the list could go on! You and Andrea were there for us in happy times, healing times and sad times. You even got your license to be able to perform our marriage! It’s too hard to say goodbye, so we’ll just say we’ll keep you in our hearts and see you later!

Oh, Maggie, I'm reading about your passing in tears.
Our road trip home at Christmas break from Leo to your home in DC was a beautiful Christmas story. Your parents fed us and opened their home to us, and then we went to the White House to feed the Reindeer. The next day, you drove us to the train for NYC. That trip is etched in my mind. Love
