Margaret Ann "Maggie" Booth's Obituary
Margaret Ann (Maggie) Booth
“The Real Deal”
Margaret Ann (Maggie) Booth, age 69 of Milton DE, peacefully lost her battle with liver disease/cancer on Monday, January 20, 2020 at Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. Maggie was born on February 12, 1950, in Bedford, VA. She is the daughter of the late Harry Mitchell (Billy) Booth and Anna Wharton Hendricks.
Maggie had a celebrated and productive career as a contract officer working with the Joint Chiefs of Staff for the Department of the Navy. She was a long time resident of White Plains, MD, where she met the love of her life, Jan Johnson. Their marriage was on August 2, 2012 in Washington, D.C., followed by a ceremony and celebration two days later in Solomons Island, MD.
After retirement in 2016, she and Jan moved to Milton DE, where her heart connected with many friends. She loved her times with them on the beach, around a game or card table, on golf courses and pickle ball courts, on any dance floor and around any table to share food and stories. She totally enjoyed using power tools to build anything, exquisitely wrapping Christmas gifts, redesigning indoor and outdoor spaces, and telling stories of her passion for volleyball, both as a team player and an official.
Maggie cherished her friendships, was fiercely loyal, endearingly competitive, and will be remembered for her intense blue eyes, her joyful smile, and a radiant caring warmth that welcomed everyone unconditionally.
Maggie is survived by her wife, Jan Johnson; her son, Chad Martin Reedy and his wife Nicki; and her grandchildren: Chad Jr., and Brooke. She is now reunited with her daughter Kimberlie Ann Reedy who passed away on October 2, 1999.
A Celebration of Maggie's Life will be held at 7:00 PM on Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE where friends may visit beginning at 6:00 PM.
