Marcella Marie Snyder's Obituary
Marcella Marie Snyder, age 103, of Milford, DE passed away at Milford Place on Saturday, July 27, 2024. She was born on December 24, 1920, in Natrona Heights, PA, daughter of the late Lewis and Lillian Hartzell.
Mrs. Snyder was a graduate of New Bethlehem High School, class of 1939. On March 19, 1943, she married the love of her life, James H. Snyder at First Methodist Church in New Bethlehem, PA and the two spent 50 years together making countless memories and raising their children.
Mrs. Snyder was a child of God, and her faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was a lifetime member of the Past-Matrons of the New Bethlehem Order of the Eastern Star and past president of Kane Music Boosters. Mrs. Snyder also sang in various church choirs and loved teaching Sunday School. Her creative mind found outlets in reading and knitting and her love for baking brought joy to family gatherings. Caring, loving and compassionate - these words capture the essence of Mrs. Snyder, who infused every day with purpose and care. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Snyder was predeceased by her husband of 50 years, James Hilton Snyder. She is survived by her son, Larry J. Snyder (Janet) of Seaford, DE; her daughter Susan M. Hall (Donald) of Dover, DE; her granddaughter, Tiffany Schutt (Bradley); her grandsons: Bradley Snyder, Timothy Hall, and Daniel Hall; and great -grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws St., Bridgeville, DE 19933, where friends and family may visit beginning at 2:00 PM. Interment will be private.
