Mahlon Clark Baker's Obituary
Mahlon Clark Baker, age 71, of Bridgeville, DE, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 25, 2013 at his home. He was born in Milford, DE, on January 18, 1942, son of the late Samuel Clark Baker and Arnette Frances O'Neal Baker.
Mr. Baker had retired as a superintendant with Temco, Inc. in Salisbury, MD. after 28 years of service. He also did agricultural farming from 1967 to 1985. In 1969 he joined the Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Department and held the post of Acting Deputy Chief from 1993-2012. Mr. Baker enjoyed fishing, hunting and Nascar. He was a member of the Union United Methodist Church in Bridgeville. DE.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Victoria A. Hunziker (2011). He is survived by his wife Alice Kathryn Townsend Baker, whom he married in 1988; two sons Martin C. Baker & companion Ellen Krone and Michael C. Baker & companion Penny Waldridge, both of Bridgeville, DE; grandson Matthew C. Baker and wife Noel of Laurel, DE; great grandson James Clark Baker; stepson Steven D. Tyre & companion Nancy Phillips of Bridgeville, DE; step daughter, Krystal J. McCoy & husband Keith of Bridgeville, DE; step granddaughter Dakota Shae Tyre of Dagsboro, DE; step grandson Trevor A. Timmons of Bridgeville, DE; two brothers in-law, Bruce Hunziker of Bridgeville, DE and William C. Townsend of Georgetown, DE.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2013, at 11:00 AM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE. where friends may call after 10 AM.
Burial will be private at St. Georges Cemetery, Clarksville, DE.
