Mafalda "Muffy" M. Brown's Obituary
Mafalda "Muffy" M. Brown, age 90, of Lewes, DE passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at The Moorings at Lewes, in Lewes, DE. She was born on June 30, 1928 in Wilmington, DE, daughter of the late Guido and Santina Centofanti.
Mrs. Brown grew up in Little Italy in Wilmington, DE where she was proud of her Italian heritage, having been named after a princess. She worked at DuPont for 32 years and then Lingo Reality for another 17 after moving to Rehoboth Beach in 1981. Mrs. Brown was a member of St. Edmond Catholic Church in Rehoboth Beach where she served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was also an active member of the Cape Henlopen Senior Center in Rehoboth Beach for many years. More recently, Mrs. Brown was known to be a social butterfly at The Moorings (formerly Cadbury) where she enjoyed playing cards.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband, Brownie; two sisters, Yolanda Antonelli and Mary Fontello; and one brother, Gino Centofanti. She is survived by one son, David Brown and his wife Beverly of Edgewater, MD; one daughter, Sandy Porter and her husband Richard of Naples, FL and Ocean View, DE; and one grandson, Jason Brown.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at 11:00 AM at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, 901 E. Newport Pike, Wilmington, DE 19804, where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will be private.
