Madeline R. Lenox's Obituary
Madeline R. Lenox, age 88 of Georgetown, Delaware passed away on Friday, February 25, 2011, at Bayhealth Center - Milford. She was born on February 19, 1923 in Camden, New Jersey, daughter of the late Reilly Miller and the late Madeline Regina Connors Miller.
In her early years Mrs. Lenox sang and performed professionally in the Philadelphia area with many big band era bands including the Warner Haines Orchestra. However, being devoted to her husband of 60 years and raising a family was the most important chapter of her life. She was a devout and active member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Georgetown, DE. For over 25 years she was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels in the Georgetown area.
Mrs. Lenox was preceded in death by her only child Ellen Thompson in Nov. 2010.
She was dearly loved by her husband Albert S. Lenox, Jr. who survives her along with her son-in-law William Thompson, grandchildren Matthew, Joshua, Carl and Adam Thompson and Rachel Bulris; and 13 great grandchildren, all of whom have wonderful memories of her love and kindness. She will also be dearly missed by her step-daughter Joann Erenhouse and step grandsons Ryan and Chad Erenhouse.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at St. Michael The Archangel Catholic Church, 202 Edward St., Georgetown, Delaware with the Rev. David Conway officiating. Burial will be private.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Monday, February 28, 2011, at the Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Dodd-Carey Chapel, 307 N. Bedford Street, Georgetown, Delaware.
