Luther P. Marks Jr.'s Obituary
Luther P. "Luke" Marks, 91, of Lewes, Delaware, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. Born on May 10, 1934, in York, Pennsylvania, Luther was the son of the late Luther Sr. and Thelma Marks. He lived in Lewes for the past 30 years, where he built a life connected to the water he loved so much.
Luther was an avid fisherman and crabber and especially enjoyed deep-sea fishing. He worked for the Caterpillar Tractor Company in York, PA as a supervisor for many years before retiring in June 1992. He and his wife, Sandra, enjoyed antiquing, estate sales, and going yard saleing. They volunteered their time delivering meals for Meals on Wheels, Lewes, DE.
Luther is survived by his daughters, Lori Crouse (Jeff) of York, PA, and Lisa Almond (Herb) of York, PA; his stepson, Larry Eberly Jr. (Terri) of Manchester, PA; seven grandchildren, Greg Schneider Jr., Ryan Crouse, Tawney Hensley, Lance Witmer, Breanna Flannery, Karley Eberly, and Morgan Witmer; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his beloved wife, Sandra L. Marks; his son, Larry A. Marks; and his siblings, John Marks Sr., June Reiber, and Gloria Paules.
Luther will be remembered for his love of the sea, his devotion to family, and the quiet strength he showed throughout his life.
