Louvan E. Nolting's Obituary
Louvan E. "Lou" Nolting, age 90 of Lewes, DE, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital, Compassionate Care Hospice Unit, in Wilmington, DE. He was born Thursday, August 18, 1927 in Rollett, ND, son of the late August and Emma (Wentz) Nolting.
Mr. Nolting was raised on a farm in North Dakota. He honorably served his country in the United States Army, later retiring from the U.S. Government after 65 years of service. Mr. Nolting was a prolific reader and collector of books. He was proficient in several languages and self taught in Mandarin (Chinese) and Hindi (India). He was a member of the Society of Federal Linguists and was very active in prior years in church related work. He was a loving husband, brother, uncle, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
Mr. Nolting is survived by his wife Gail E. (Garvey) Nolting of Lewes; his sister, Mary Anne (Stuart) Sanders of Lawn Prarie, MN; and his 3 nieces, Suzanne, Julieanne, and Roxanne. He is also survived by his special cat Stardust.
Graveside Services will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 11:30 AM at Lewes Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 133 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Mr. Nolting's memory to Beebe Hospital Building Fund, 424 Savannah Road; Lewes, DE 19958.
