Louise Cohee Milrod's Obituary
Louise Cohee Milrod, age 93, of Lewes, DE, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2023, at Cadia Capitol Nursing Home in Dover, DE, after a long, battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Born on August 12, 1929, in West Chester, PA, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Elsie (Roe) Cohee.
Louise was a 1947 graduate of West Chester High School. She enrolled in the West Chester School of Nursing, graduating in 1950 as a Registered Nurse. On August 3, 1957, Louise married the love of her life, Martin O. Milrod in Washington, DC and the two would spend thirty-six years making countless memories together and raising their beautiful family. In addition to working as a Registered Nurse, Louise created a warm and nurturing home for Marty and their three children. She found pleasure in simple things. She was a passionate gardener and loved getting her hands in the dirt. One of her favorite things in the world, was to sit in a room surrounded by cut flowers and read a good book while sipping tea. Her devotion to her family, however, took precedence above all else and she cherished the time with those that she held dear. Louise was a loving and dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She will be forever missed by her family and those whose lives she touched.
In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Martin O. Milrod in 1993. She is survived by her loving children, Jeff Milrod (Joanne) of Leesburg, VA, Marc Milrod (Linda) of Seattle, WA, and Lyn Mox (Michael) of Lewes, DE; seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Louise will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery, beside her beloved husband.
In lieu of flowers, Louise’s family requests making a donation in their mother’s memory to a charity of your choice.
