Louise B. Mateer's Obituary
Louise B. Mateer, age 91, of Bethany Beach, DE died Friday, May 26, 2006, at Brandywine Assisted Living in Rehoboth Beach, Del. Mrs. Mateer died peacefully at Brandywine Assisted Living in Rehoboth Beach, MD. After her husbands death she assumed ownership and became the CEO of Metropolitan Block and Supply Co., and later of Hycon CO. After retiring from these businesses, she worked at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, MD where she lived prior to moving to Rehoboth Beach. In Silver Spring, she was an active member of Grace Episcopal Church and served in the Pennyworth Thrift Shop there. She was an active member of the Silver Spring Womens Club. A happy portion of her life was spent at Dares Beach, MD where she had many friends.
She was the daughter of the late Charles A. Oakley and the late Lenore (Kirkpatrick) Hamman.
She is also survived by her one Daughter, Dorothy M. (Mateer) Seyfried of Bethany Beach, Del.
Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, Lewes, Del.. Funeral service will be at All Saints Episcopal Church at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 31, 2006 . Interment will be at Rock Creek Park Cemetery in Washington, D.C.
