Louis "Lou" William Kupfer's Obituary
Louis "Lou" William Kupfer, age 86 of Rehoboth Beach, DE passed away on Monday, June 30, 2014 at his home. He was born on May 25, 1928 in Baltimore, MD, son of the late George J. and Elva (Griffith) Kupfer.
Mr. Kupfer served proudly in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Following his honorable discharge, Mr. Kupfer embarked on a lifelong career with the Baltimore Sun as a Mailer. In the early 1980's after 45+ dedicated years at the Baltimore Sun, Mr. Kupfer retired to his favorite weekend travel spot, Rehoboth Beach. Mr. Kupfer was a member of the Mailers Local #88, the Rehoboth VFW and American Legion Post #5, where he established many friendships and enjoyed happy hour with friends.
One of Mr. Kupfer's favorite pass times was the drive on beach at Delaware State Park where he would enjoy fishing, tailgating and relaxing with his family and friends. Mr. Kupfer will be remembered for his entertaining stories, his devoted friendship and most importantly his love for his family.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Kupfer was preceded in death by his loving wife, Doris V. Kupfer and his two sons, Timmy and Terry Kupfer. He is survived by his two sons: Bill Louis Kupfer and wife Beatrice of Martinsburg, WV and Tommy Kupfer of Rehoboth Beach, DE; one daughter, Beverly Ann Farley of South Bethany, DE; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Mr. Kupfer's Life will be announced at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Kupfer's memory to the American Legion Post #5, 300 King Charles Street, Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971.
