Louis Vincent Kessler's Obituary
Louis "Lou" Vincent Kessler, Jr., 72, of Bridgeville, DE, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2011, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Wilmington, DE with his wife by his side. He was born in Philadelphia, PA, on May 25, 1938, son of the late Louis Kessler, Sr. and Alice (McCrae) Kessler.
Mr. Kessler served in the U.S. Navy and he was a volunteer Fireman in the Claymont Fire Company, Claymont, DE. He retired from the Southern States Cooperative after more than 38 years of service. He enjoyed hunting and reading. He was a devoted husband and father who enjoyed spoiling his grandchildren and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Elaine Mae (Kriger) Kessler of Bridgeville, DE; two sons: Louis Vincent Kessler, III and Lale of Selbyville, DE and Kenneth Roy Kessler and wife Kim of Seaford, DE; two daughters: Sherry Elaine Kessler of Bridgeville, DE and Felicity Danyelle Kessler and Richard of Eden, MD; seven grandchildren: Zacharye, Laura, Brianna, Amanda, Anastasia, Makayla and Autumn; two brothers: Albert Kessler of Pasadena, MD and Mark Kessler of Schenksville, PA; two sisters: Hazel Wilson of Claymont, DE and Christina Martin of Greensborough, MD; and many nieces and nephews.
No services will be held at the request of the deceased. Friends and family are welcome to visit with the family anytime at the Bridgeville family home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to: The Johns Hopkins Scleroderma Center, 5200 Eastern Ave., Suite 4100 Mason F. Lord Building, Center Tower, Baltimore, MD 21224.
