Louella Mae Dirks' Obituary
Louella Mae Wardrup Dirks, age 72 of Rehoboth Beach, DE, passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at her home. She was born on February 26, 1949 in Lewes, DE, daughter of Charlotte (Burton) McDaniel and the late Oscar L. McDaniel.
Ms. Dirks attended both Rehoboth High School and Sussex Vo-Tech, where she studied culinary arts and cosmetology. She had many and varied interests, but none so much as spending time with those she held most dear. She was a loving and devoted daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who loved her.
In addition to her father, Ms. Dirks was preceded in death by her brother, Douglas L. Wardrup. She is survived by her mother, Charlotte B. McDaniel; her children: Donald Dirks, Kim Dirks, and Stacy McDonald (Jason); her grandchildren: Katie Dirks, Brittany Draine, Laney Dirks, Jonathan Vogel, Joseph Vogel, Owen McDonald, Alexis Blakeslee (Jerry), Sierra West, and Morgan Hysock (Dean); 7 great-grandchildren; her siblings: Brenda L. Stevenson (James), Thomas Park McDaniel (Barbie), and Lee J. McDaniel; her sister-in-law, Linda Wardrup; and her many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 17, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE, where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow the services at Epworth Methodist Cemetery, Henlopen Avenue, Rehoboth Beach, DE.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, social distancing must be observed and masks must be worn by all attending or participating in any aspect of the services.
