Lois C. Menzel's Obituary
Lois C. Menzel, (nee Brenneisen) age 75 of Lewes, DE, formerly of West New York, NJ, and Point Pleasant Beach, NJ, passed away April 16, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital, Wilmington, DE. She was born August 20, 1934, daughter of the late Sarah O’Hare, Frank Brenneisen and step father, Martin O’Hare.
Mrs. Menzel graduated from Memorial High School, West New York, NJ, then proceeded on to obtain her degree as an X-Ray Technician from Jersey City Medical Center, Jersey City, NJ. Shortly after in 1955 she would marry the love of her life, Franklin. From this point on, she devoted her life to her home and family. Mrs. Menzel was keeper of a large extended family and everyone new they could go to her for anything. She enjoyed Bingo, Poker, Pinochle, Needlepoint, and Crochet; every family member had a blanket. She was a master coupon cutter of the Sunday newspapers and proud owner of the Dew-Drop Inn, Lewes, DE. Mrs. Menzel had a big heart and will be sorely missed by all.
Mrs. Menzel is survived by her husband of 55 years, Franklin J. Menzel, Jr., three sons, Franklin M. Menzel of Jackson, NJ, Michael M. Menzel and wife Kim of Point Pleasant, NJ, Steven F. Menzel of North Brunswick, NJ, two daughters, Kathleen A. McMichael and husband Dennis of Bricktown, NJ, and Kellie A. Menzel of Atlanta, GA, two brothers, Frank Brenneisen of Glen Lake, NY and Martin O’Hare of Ridgefield Park, NJ; three sisters, Doris MacDonald of New Milford, NJ, Joan Jouas and husband Les of Ridgefield Park, NJ, and Patricia Dwyer of Hackensack, NJ, grandchildren, Kieran Duffy, Courtney Rosin, Erin Duffy, Scott Rosin, Sarah Rosin, Renee Menzel and Rachel Menzel, two great grandchildren, Brian and Brandon Pruett, and many nieces and nephews, each one special to her.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday April 21, 2010 at 12 noon at the Epiphany Roman Catholic Church, 615 Thiele Road, Bricktown, NJ. Burial will be private.
