I’ll always remember him as Buddy. He was a steady fixture in our family celebrations and get togethers. His love and humor will always be a cherished memory. He has always been my personal hero and I’m truly saddened to hear of his passing. My love and condolences go out to the family in this difficult time. I know he’s in heaven and I look forward to seeing him there.
Colonel Luxich, Lionel as I was allowed to call him, was one of the most genuinely likable gentlemen I knew. We crossed paths when he would come to my classroom as a Jr. Achievement volunteer. After the first year of his coming to work with my second graders, I made sure that HE was the one I would get the following years and he returned to my classroom for 5 consecutive years. The kids loved him and I was honored to know him. I would occasionally see him out in public and he always knew who I was and took the time to stop and chat. I'm so sorry for this family's loss but I am fortunate to have known him and experienced his generosity. RIP Mr. Lux!

My brain races to fondly remember Lionel and times of years ago - St. John's Catholic School - Tuscaloosa High School. Years sometime between 1950 and 1960. Not sure of the year The Luxich Family moved to Tuscaloosa.
