Linda Marie Mazza's Obituary
Linda Marie Mazza, age 73 of Rehoboth Beach, DE passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 23, 2017. She was born in 1944 in Dunbar, PA. Daughter of Marie McKenney (Wilhelm) and the late Albert McKenney.
Mrs. Mazza was a beloved wife, daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. She began her career as a secretary in the Air Force in 1962 in the metropolitan Washington, D.C. area. She remained in Northern Virginia for her entire professional career, retiring as a Division Chief for the Department of Defense. She served her country well and received an Exemplary Service Award from General Norman Schwarzkopf after her role in the successful Desert Storm Campaign. While her career spanned over three decades, her most important roles were as wife, daughter, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. She loved to entertain and enjoyed hosting relatives and loved ones at her home in Rehoboth Beach. Also in her retirement years, she took great joy in serving as a Eucharistic Minister a St. Edmond Church, as well as playing golf and bridge. She was an avid reader, passionate with her gardening and enjoyed participating with her many friends in the Red Hat Society.
Mrs. Mazza is survived by her loving husband of more than 54 years, Vincent; her daughter, Dr. Monica Browne; and grandchildren, Katherine and Margaret Browne all of Rehoboth Beach, DE.
Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at 11:00 AM at St. Edmond Roman Catholic Church, King Charles and Laurel Streets, Rehoboth Beach, DE . A visitation will be held on Tuesday November 28, 2017 from 2-4 PM and 7 to 9 PM at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE. Entombment will follow the mass at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Dagsboro, DE.
