Linda Miller Whitton, 81, of Rehoboth Beach Delaware, formerly of Alexandria, VA, passed away on September 12, 2024. Known to most as Aunt Linda, she was predeceased by her husband Monroe “Chip” Whitton, her father Frank Miller Jr Read Obituary
I met Linda in March 2023 while my family and I were on vacation at Silver Sands in Grand Cayman. She was the sweetest woman. Ever since our vacation, I always looked forward to her sunset Facebook posts. She truly loved the island and wanted others to have the chance to appreciate its beauty too. May she rest in peace.
Linda was part of our Easter in Cayman for so many years and we are sad to see her go. We know how loved she was by Jamie, Angela and the girls and we’re sending lots of love. May she rest in eternal peace. 🙏♥️
Aunt Linda. A woman with an amazing zest for life. Her adventurous spirit and sly sense of humor have been an inspiration to many. I’m sure those are just two qualities that my parents imagined would influence me when they asked her to be my Godmother. Her enviable smile and joyful laugh whenever she got a good one over on somebody just illuminated the room. Love of travel is something we both share. While I never made it to Scotland, my parents always cherished their time touring the countryside with her on many trips and there are 100’s of photos documenting those experiences. I tended to be more tropical in my travels and Cayman always topped my list. I can remember one trip in particular right after she had shipped her car from Delaware to Grand Cayman. She asked me to pick it up from customs and I remember smiling and laughing all the way to Silver Sands driving that car with Delaware license plates on a Caribbean island. Well I know she’s smiling and laughing and seeing perfect sunsets with a green flash every day now. To the Waple and Whitton families, you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Linda was our neighbor in Cayman at Silver Sands. She loved the island and we will miss watching sunsets with her this next winter season.
So many years she was my neighbor in Cayman. She will be missed.
Linda was my longtime friend and neighbor. We shared many good times together and we loved to play shuffleboard on Thursday nights. She was kind and thoughtful, and I will miss her very much. Until we meet again, may God keep her in his loving hands.
Linda would periodically stop for a visit on her way to her favorite refuge. She always took interest in everyone providing good thoughts and suggestions to share. It will take a great deal of time to move about this planet comfortably without her. I do know we will get to see her again. She now sits with her loved ones, watching a sunset with China blue skies and a glass of wine, thinking about us all.
