Linda Marie Dillinger's Obituary
Linda Marie (Dennis) Dillinger, age 61, of Lewes, DE, died Saturday, July 5, 2008, at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, MD. She was born May 9, 1947 in Salisbury, daughter of Olin Woodrow and Virginia Marie (Hambley) Dennis.
Mrs. Dillinger was an elementary school teacher for 35 years; she taught the learning disabled for 15 of those years. She retired from teaching while serving at Rehoboth Elementary School. She was named Teacher of the Year (2006-2007). She served on many committees at Rehoboth Elementary. She enjoyed traveling and reading in her spare time.
She is survived by her husband Monroe Dillinger; her son Jeffrey B. Dillinger of Lewes; her sister Debbie Lawler of Alexandria, VA; her mother Virginia Marie Dennis of Lewes, DE; two brothers, Woody Dennis of Milton, DE and J. L. Dennis of Delaware City, DE; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 10, 2:00 P.M., at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE with Pastor Charlie Arnold officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Thursday and also on Wednesday evening from 7-9 PM. Interment will be private at Henlopen Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Rehoboth Elementary School Library, c/o Cape Henlopen School District, 1270 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE 19958 or to PRMC Cancer Center, 100 E. Carroll Street, Salisbury, MD 21801.
