Lillian A. Roth's Obituary
Lillian Alma Jean Roth, also known as "Dirt Road Lilly" and "Granny Good-Witch", of Long Neck, DE, passed away at the tender age of 80 years old on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at Beebe Healthcare, in Lewes, DE. She was born Tuesday, September 29, 1936 in Dahlonega, GA, daughter of the late Arch and Hazel Anderson.
Lillian graduated from Lumpkin County High School in 1953. She married the love of her life, John Austin Roth, in Dahlonega, GA in 1959. Lillian held many store clerk jobs in her day, but her most challenging and rewarding job was as a stay at home mother for her two daughters. Her many hobbies included cooking, baking, puzzles, reading, card playing, crocheting, crafts, sea shell collecting, and playing Tetris. Lillian was also a 3-time Champ of the Doctor Mario video game. Her most cherished moments, however, were those spent with her adored family. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Lillian is survived by her beloved husband, John Austin Roth of Long Neck, DE; her daughters: Chrissie Schmitt of Johnson, NY, and Kelly White of Long Neck, DE; her grandchildren: Karla Schmitt of Lewes, DE, Mallory Vetere of Hamburg, NJ, John Schmitt of Johnson, NY, Samatha White of San Diego, CA, and Lindsay Lyman of Selbyville, DE; and spouses of her family: William Schmitt of Johnson, NY, Christopher Vetere of Hamburg, NJ, Brenton Lyman of Selbyville, DE, and Brad McDaniel of San Diego, CA.
