Lewis Edward Slater Jr.'s Obituary
Lewis Edward “Reb” Slater Jr., 66, of Milford, Delaware, passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 18, 2025, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born on November 14, 1958, in Milford, Delaware, Reb was the first born son of Lewis Edward Slater Sr. and Mary Ann (Wood) Slater. Reb graduated from Woodbridge High School, Class of 1976, Reb went on to build a successful career, owning and operating a mobile home and modular home business.
Reb had a deep love for the outdoors and a lifelong passion for horses. He found great joy in riding, training, and showing them. He also enjoyed the thrill of riding ATVs and spending time with his last quarter horse; Miss Sierra Te.
He is survived by his son, Derrick Slater (Zany); his beautiful granddaughter, Zoey Slater; his siblings: Wayne Slater (Lisa), George Slater (Anne), and Karen Gallo (Emil); and 13 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Deborah Ann Slater, and his nephew David Slater.
A private memorial service to honor Reb’s life will be held at a later date.

Reb will be remembered for his strength, his love of family, and his unwavering spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
