I had the pleasure of working with Lester for the better part of ten years at Delaware Seashore State Park. I always enjoyed visiting and joking with him in the fee booth. He was always in a good mood and was great when training new employees. The number of years he gave Parks and Recreation even after his first retirement is a testament to his character and work ethic. I am fortunate to have known him, he will be missed.

I will always remember Poppy's bridge dollars. Whenever we left the beach we were given a dollar to get a soda or snack on the way home, and to make sure we made it back over the bay bridge. Spending summers helping him at the Tower Road State Park Beach toll booth, saying hello to visitors, handing out their entry tickets and singing along to oldies on his AM/FM radio. Us grandkids had fun being "put to work." Riding the double Ferris wheel at the Delaware State Fair with Poppy and my sister, Poppy's face was white throughout the entire ride; when we got off he laughed and said "I will NEVER do that again!" Countless days at the beach and nights at Fun Land. Watching him pat on his Aqua Velvet aftershave or running through the living room wrapped in his white towel after taking an outdoor shower. Humming and singing as he worked, an ever present cigarette drooping from his mouth. Polo shirts, a pen in his breast pocket and his pocket knife always ready to be flipped opened and used.
Poppy was one of those people who was naturally good at everything did. He was best at loving those around him, we are all better for having been his. I'll never forget the way Poppy would pat my cheek and say "I love you Chrissy girl." May your memory be eternal Poppy and may angels (and Nanny) lead you in.

I had the opportunity to meet and share moments in time with Bruce and Naomi on a fairly regular basis at Theresa's and Skip's over our years as neighbors. Both Naoimi and Bruce were vey proud of their family's accomplishments and the excellent character that was always demonstrated by their entire family.
During those times for conversation we met we shared stories of both the good times and hard times of our parents and our older generation's of our families make a living in the Pennsylvania Hills & Mts.
Later I learned I could rely upon a friendly face and a warm smile when I drove into Indian River State Park. Bruce's fishing report was always pretty accurate for my catching report by the time I headed home. I learned after asking other rangers, "Where is Bruce Moore today" that he was known by his proper name to them.
He was a strong pillar of a man who had a great devotion to his family. We shall miss him.

Dear Tim and Donna,
Barbara-Ann and I send our heart felt condolences.
My dad also served in the U.S.Army, France WW-II and was 6 months older than your Father (he fell asleep in the Lord in 2003). We surely would have enjoyed hearing Mr. L.B. M's stories, crab-fests and singing. Not to worry Tim........as I'll look forward to meeting your Dad one day if I'm allowed into Heaven.

The smell of Old Spice. The St. Christopher medal on a chain around his neck. His laughter. His guitar playing, singing, and spoon playing. Sunrise service at the Naval Hospital and Sugar Loaf mountain. Easter egg hunts at Nimitz Road. Clouds of cigarette smoke and the smell of bourbon and pepsi on Saturday nights at Nimitz Road. Cursing at the Redskins. Crab Feasts in the garage. Waving hello and goodbye to him in the tollbooth. He had the most organized tool bench and garage. The sound of "Kelley-girl" as I walked into the room. Him slipping dinner scraps to Petey, Misty, and Missy under the table. Christmas' sleeping on the living room floor on air mattresses with all my cousins.
Memories that will be cherished and stories that will be handed down with love from the first grandchild,
