Leslie T. Romel's Obituary
Leslie “Les” T. Romel of Rehoboth Beach, DE passed away peacefully on June 8, 2010 at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford surrounded by his family. He was born September 14, 1946 in Montclair, NJ son of the late William Henry and Gladys (Anderson) Romel.
Mr. Romel graduated from Immaculate Conception High School, Montclair, in 1965 and graduated from Farleigh Dickinson College in Rutherford, NJ with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Marketing. He spent his entire career with E & J Gallo Winery until retiring in 2001 as VP of Sales for the Bartolomeo Pio, Inc., Ft. Washington, PA. Mr. Romel was a devoted community servant who loved volunteering with the Salvation Army, Meals on Wheels and Senior Citizen Driving Services. He loved being at the beach, listening to jazz, and spending time with his family. Mr. Romel was a loving husband, father, friend and animal lover; and a loyal friend of Bill W. for 14 years. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Romel was preceded in death by his brother Billy. He is survived by his wife of 39 years Lynda L. Romel; 2 daughters: Lori Anne Romel and Kristina A. Romel, both of Lansdale, PA.; 2 sisters: Anita Moran of Titusville, FL and Marilyn Rand and husband David of Morristown, NJ; and his beloved pets.
A Celebration of Life for Les will be held Sunday, June 13, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE. Friends may call at the funeral home beginning at 10:00 AM. In keeping with the celebration the family invites casual attire. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
