Leon W. "Walt" "Sonny" Mile's Obituary
Leon Walter Mile, "Walt" "Sonny," age 73, of Lewes, DE passed away peacefully on Friday, October 2, 2015 at his home. He was born on August 30, 1942 in Philadelphia, PA, son of the late Leon Mile and Elva (Martin) Mile Sullivan.
Mr. Mile attended Bartram High School in Philadelphia, PA. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Mr. Mile began his career briefly working at General Electric and Westinghouse Electric before embarking on a 33 year career with the Boeing Company in Ridley Park, PA.
Mr. Mile loved spending time with his grandchildren and making long lasting memories with them. One of Mr. Mile's favorite activities was fishing on the Delaware waters. He was also an exceptional cook who enjoyed preparing delicious meals for his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Mile was preceded in death by his step father, Joseph Sullivan. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Grace (Murphy) Mile of Lewes, DE; a son, Christopher Mile and his wife Stacey of New Castle, DE; two daughters: Kimberly Jones and her husband Patrick of Felton, DE and Jennifer Mile of Harrington, DE; three grandsons: Ethan Mile of Newark, DE, Brendan Mile of New Castle, DE and Nolan Jones of Felton, DE; and a granddaughter, Kealey Jones of Felton, DE.
All services are private per Mr. Mile's request.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Mile's memory to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
