Lena Nellie Boland's Obituary
Lena (Lee) Nellie Boland, age 92 of Lewes, DE passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at Delaware Hospice Center, in Milford, DE. She was born on February 21, 1931, in Ridgewood, NJ, daughter of the late Andrew and Stella (Drenth) Haak.
Lee was married to the love of her life, Robert, on May 30, 1953 and celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this year. They raised their family, son Robert, Jr. and daughter Sandra, in Rochelle Park, New Jersey. When retired, she and her husband Bob moved to Lewes, DE. They enjoyed their life by the shore but more than anything, she treasured time spent with those she held most dear. Lee was a loving and nurturing wife, mother, grandmother, and friend and her presence will be dearly missed by those who were fortunate enough to know her.
In addition to her parents, Lee was predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert Boland, only by three weeks; her brother and sister-in-law, Leonard and Elaine; and her sister and brother-in-law, Emma and Paul Naser. She is survived by her son, Robert Boland, Jr., (Michelle); her daughter Sandra Pilewski (Steve); her grandchildren: Bryan Pilewski (Bonnie Radmore) and Kyle Pilewski; her brother and sister-in-law, John, and Jeannine Haak; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023, at 11:00 AM at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE, where friends may call beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial will follow at 1:00 PM at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966.
