Leah Willis Vetter's Obituary
Leah W. Vetter (Shoemaker), passed away at the age of 77, in her home on December 30, 2020, with David, Karen, and Warren by her side. Leah was born June 11, 1943, in Baltimore MD, daughter of the late Inez and William Shoemaker. She lived the past 20 years in Lewes, DE. Leah was a loving wife, caring daughter, supportive mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.
Back in the day Leah was an awesome athlete, loved bowling, dancing, and constantly doted over the many dogs that have blessed her life. Most of all, Leah adored and was super proud of her grandchildren; and was considered the glue of the family. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all of those who knew her.
Leah is survived by her husband Warren Vetter; sister, Margaret Bieger (Shoemaker) of Williamsburg, VA; son, David Vetter of Ellicott City, MD; daughter, Karen Swontek (Vetter) of Lewes DE; and her six grandchildren: Billy, Lindsey, and Madi Swontek of Lewes, DE and Joshua, Jessica, and Jenna Vetter of Ellicott City, MD.
In her last few months, Leah was cared for by Delaware Hospice. David and Karen will be forever grateful for the care and support they provided for their mother. Please join us by sharing our gratitude by making a donation in Leah’s memory to Delawarehospice.org.
As per Leah’s wish, David and Karen will be hosting a celebration of Leah’s life later this year.
