Larry Asha Holden's Obituary
Larry Asha Holden, age 65, of Bowie, MD, passed away peacefully in Dagsboro, DE, on Monday, May 4, 2009. He was born and raised in Wilmington, DE, son of Marguerite (Pollett) Richards and the late Edmond Earl Holden.
Mr. Holden had worked as a drywall installer. He had also worked as a bartender at various establishments in Ocean City, MD. He enjoyed singing and dancing and was a regular on American Bandstand. He was a diehard Redskins fan; enjoyed playing cards; and living and being around water. He loved and was devoted to his only son, Dylan. He served with the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
In addition to his mother Marguerite Richards of Winterhaven, FL, he is survived by his wife Debi E. (Gardner) Holden; a son, Dylan Holden of Bowie; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother Jerry Holden.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 11, 2009, at 12:00 PM Noon, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Clarksville Chapel, Routes 26 & 17, 34874 Atlantic Ave., Ocean View, DE with interment at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Shriner's Hospital for Crippled Children, 3551 N. Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19140.
