L. Wayne Williams Sr.'s Obituary
Larry “Wayne” Williams, age 72 of Milton, DE, and formerly of New London, PA, passed away on Sunday, October 17, 2021, at his home. He was born on January 3, 1949, in Mobile, AL, son of the late Thomas B. and Lois Elease Williams.
Wayne built a lifelong career in finance, retiring from Sunoco Oil Refinery in Marcus Hook, PA, after 35 dedicated years. He was an avid reader and loved travel, especially seeing the country from the road in his motor home. Wayne enjoyed coastal living and all it had to offer ~ particularly time on the beach and fishing at every opportunity. Above all, he cherished time spent with those he held most dear. Wayne was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Wayne is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Jane (Edwards) Williams of Milton, DE; his children; his grandchildren; his great-grandchildren; his siblings; and his nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 21, 2021, from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions in Wayne’s memory to the Food Bank of Delaware, 1041 Mattlind Way, Milford, DE 19963, or Brandywine Valley SPCA, 22918 Dupont Highway, Georgetown, DE 19947.
