Kenneth B. Wheatley's Obituary
Kenneth Benton Wheatley, age 88, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE, after a lengthy illness. Kenneth was born in Washington DC and lived most of his life in Silver Spring, MD before retiring to the Bethany Beach area with his wife Mary LaVelle.
He served with the US. Army during WW II. He was present for the Philippine Liberation and was awarded a Bronze Star for his service. He was a partner in the auto parts distributing business at Master Automotive. Kenneth wanted to remind everyone to take care of our veterans and don’t forget to vote.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Rita. He is survived by his daughter Valerie; granddaughter Megan; great-granddaughter Haylee; son and daughter-in-law Daniel and Maureen; grandchildren: Marilyn and Patrick; great-granddaughter Erin; and three brothers: Bernard, Wilford and Vincent.
It was Kenneth’s wish that there be no services held. He will be interned with his loving wife, Mary LaVelle at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro, DE. Arrangements by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Lewes.
