Kenneth Campbell Spinney's Obituary
Kenneth Campbell Spinney, age 86, of Bethany Beach, DE passed away peacefully on Monday, August 29, 2016. He was born in Bronxville, NY, on July 31, 1930, son of the late Hazen P. Spinney and Anne (Campbell) Spinney.
Ken was a graduate of UNH, an artist and an avid golfer, who loved his fellow linksmen. His life was an adventure in flying: Ken was a pilot, who took Kristin Olson on their first date in a Piper airplane that Kris swears had no floor. A thrilling ride it must have been, for they would spend the next 57 wonderful years together. Aviation would afford him the luxury of traveling the world. Ken worked in advertising before he forayed into aviation, working for Atlantic Aviation, Grumman, Beachcraft, and Hawker Siddeley, before retiring as Vice President of Sales and Marketing for British Aerospace Incorporated.
Ken will be dearly missed by his beloved wife, Kristin, his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, immediate family, and his many friends.
Here's to your flight west, Ken.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, September 09, 2016, at 1:00 PM, at St. Martha's Episcopal Church, 117 Maplewood Street, Bethany Beach, DE, where friends may visit beginning at 12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest contributions made in Ken's name to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 230 East Ohio Street, Suite 500, Chicago, IL 60611.
