Kenneth Schwartz's Obituary
Kenneth Schwartz, age 88, of Milton, Delaware, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 3, 2026.
He was born on July 27, 1937, and was the beloved son of the late Edward and Nettie (Mamet) Schwartz.
Kenneth proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Navy, where he developed a strong sense of discipline, loyalty, and service that remained with him throughout his life. Following his military service, he devoted his career to law enforcement, serving with honor and distinction in the Philadelphia Police Department. Over many years of dedicated service, he rose to the rank of Staff Inspector, earning the respect of colleagues and the community alike.
A true Philadelphian at heart, Mr. Schwartz was a passionate fan of all Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Eagles, Phillies, and Flyers. He was an avid reader with a sharp wit and a great sense of humor, known to family and friends as a natural jokester who loved to make people laugh. Kenneth also had a deep love for dogs throughout his life, with a special place in his heart for his beloved Tucker.
Kenneth will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine (Wurtz) Schwartz; his son, Addam (Ann) Schwartz of Philadelphia, PA; his daughter, Mimi Bergmann of Philadelphia, PA; his stepson, William Talbot of Lewes, DE; and his stepdaughter, Michelle (Jack) Donio of Buena, NJ. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Matthew Bergmann of Philadelphia, PA; Amanda Perri of Hainesport, NJ; Tina Talbot (Kyle Kilgo) of Millsboro, DE; Hayley Talbot of Georgetown, DE; Paul, Sean, Ryan, and Jamie Earle, all of Buena, NJ; and 10 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are his brother, Barry Schwartz, and his sister, Aileen Kline. Two brothers, Herbert and Norman, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, located at 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, DE 19958, where family and friends may visit beginning at 10:00 a.m. Chapel committal services will follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, DE 19966.
