Kelly Jean Fritchman's Obituary
Kelly Jean Fritchman
July 2, 1976 - June 7, 2009
Kelly Jean Fritchman, 31, of Rehoboth Beach, Delaware went to be with the Lord, Sunday, June 7, in the arms of her husband, surrounded by family, friends, and her pastor. She endured a life-long battle with Cystic Fibrosis without complaint and with the utmost optimism. Her outlook on life has truly inspired those who loved and knew her.
Kelly graduated from Dover High School in 1994 and the University of Delaware in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Physiology. Despite her condition, she was an accomplished athlete at both institutions; breaking and maintaining three different varsity swimming records at Dover High School and as a member of the 1995 - 1996 University of Delaware North Atlantic Conference Championship Team. She worked diligently as co-founder and controller of Envirotech Environmental Consulting, Inc. Kelly also served the Town of Dewey Beach and the Dewey Beach Patrol with years of clerical, organizational and programming services. She recently acquired ownership of Morton Electric Motor Sales and Service in Lewes, Delaware where she worked as controller. She was also an active member of the Bethel United Methodist Church in Lewes.
Kelly is survived by her husband Todd and their two children Melanie Jean, 6, and Charles James, 4. She is also survived by her Mother Laurie Leary; stepfather Tom Leary; father Ron Leven; sisters Shannon Leary, Becky Leary, and Heather Tunstill.
Kelly Jean was a devoted and endlessly loving mother, wife, and daughter. She was truly the core and guiding light of her family. She touched many people with her kindness, love, and support. She was a living angel.
Memorial services were held for her on Wednesday, June 10th at the Bethel United Methodist Church in Lewes, Delaware and a celebration of her life took place at The Glade Community Clubhouse immediately following her service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to be made in Kelly's memory to: The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation "Great Strides Fundraising", Delaware Valley Chapter, 2004 Sproul Road, Suite 208, Brookmall, PA 19008.
