Kay Louise Kumitis' Obituary
Kay Louise Kumitis, age 79, of Lewes, DE, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022, at Beebe Healthcare. She was born on September 5, 1943, in Lebanon, PA then moved to Pottstown, PA, the daughter of the late Harry and Jean (Kuhlman) Emery.
Kay enjoyed a twenty-year career with AT&T in Pottstown, Allentown and King of Prussia, PA, retiring from the sales department in 2001. Then moved to Lewes, DE to enjoy retirement. She had many interests including puzzles, game nights with her family, birdwatching, lounging by the pool, going for a ride on the boat, and soaking up the sunshine as much as possible. She was active in the area’s senior centers and enjoyed the many friends she met there. Above all else, the time spent with her loved ones was what she treasured the most. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Kay was preceded in death by her husband, Simon Kumitis, Jr. She is survived by her daughters, Kristina Keller of Lewes, DE, and Kim (Jim) Bauzon, of Lancaster, PA; her seven grandchildren, Lauren Summers (Patrick), Brandon Keller (Courtney), Jeremy Keller (Jasmin), Tyler (Ashley) Hanna, Travis Hanna, Jessica Priest, and Jared Priest; her great-granddaughter, Harper Kay Summers, who was her pride and joy; and her three great-grandsons, Troy, Sawyer and Brody Hanna; her brother, David Emery of North Carolina; her sister Linda Houck, of Ocean City, NJ; and her best friend of fifty-years, Barbara Puterbaugh of Pottstown, PA.
