Dear Ed, Curtis, and Melanie,
She was one of the good ones! Her kindness of spirit, generosity of self, and love of others were her gifts to those who were lucky enough to know her. So many times her sweet (but sometimes ornery) smile and easy laugh were all a teacher or student needed to turn the day around. She had the knack for making people feel better about themselves, and we all knew that she was genuinely interested in what we had to say. While this has to be an incredibly difficult time for you, know that she will forever be in the hearts of so many. Take care and bless you all. Love you Kathy!

To Ed and family of Kathy I was so sorry to hear of Kathys passing she was a sweet wonderful person and I know she will be missed terribly. May your wonderful memories help to carry you through a sad time.
Kathy is gone far too soon, but hers was a life well lived. She did what she was sent here to do. She did it well, and we are all better for it. My heart aches for Ed, Curtis and Melanie. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. Godspeed my friend.
I am so sad to hear of Kathy’s passing. She was a bright spot in so many students’, parents’, and coworkers’ day at Rehoboth and Shields Elementary Schools. She greeted everyone with a smile! She loved my daughter like her own and we will miss her. I was saddened to hear of Kathy's passing. She had such a generous spirit and kind heart. As the school secretary, Kathy's touched so many lives while she worked at Shields Elementary School.
When my classroom was connected to the school office, not a day would go by without Kathy popping in to tell me a funny story or make a comment about an office escapade. Working with Kathy was such fun!
I have fond memories of the last conversation I had with Kathy and Ed. It was during my retirement party as we sat around the table in my backyard. We were all laughing and reminiscing about our time at Shields. Kathy had such a bright smile, infectious laugh and twinkling eyes. Those are the things I want to remember about her.

Our sincere condolences to Kathy's family. Many great memories of Kathy and the Hammond family during weekends at the Indian River Inlet, Plantation Park, and the annual family reunions at Aunt Reba and Uncle Joe's house in Ocean View. So sorry for your loss. Barb and Bill Bowden
Ed, Melanie, Curtis and family, please accept my sincere condolences on your loss. KR was the best of the best, always there for everyone, always smiling and I feel so blessed to have had her in my life. We shared a lot of wonderful times.

Ed, Curtis, and Melanie - I am broken-hearted as I process this loss. Kathy and I met over 30 years ago when our children were just 2. I instantly loved her and the joy that she brought wherever she went. Over the many years that brought us together, we reconnected time and time again, sharing what our kids were doing and then what our grandchildren were doing, having grandkids the same age as our children. It seems impossible that she is gone but her beautiful heart is with us all and will remain a focus of our lives as we treasure our memories. I hope you can feel how much she impacted her many friends' lives and keep those close as you heal. Love and prayers to you all.
